Job Description

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following responsibilities:

  • Hire and train or arrange for staff training to ensure a knowledgeable and competent sales team.
  • Assign duties to sales workers and create work schedules to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Sell merchandise to customers to ensure customer satisfaction and increase sales volumes.
  • Place orders for merchandise and authorize the return of merchandise to ensure optimal inventory management.
  • Authorize cheque payments to ensure accurate billing and record-keeping.
  • Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to provide insight into store performance.
  • Organize and keep inventory to ensure accurate stock levels and prevent supply shortages.
  • Resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints and supply shortages, to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient store operations.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of employees to ensure a high-performing team.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Fluency in the English language to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • A certificate of secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience to demonstrate basic knowledge and skills.
  • At least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry to bring additional value to the position.
  • Ability to supervise 3 to 4 people to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented to ensure proper record-keeping and billing.
  • Client-focused and possessing effective interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Excellent oral communication skills to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
  • Organizational and flexible nature to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Reliable and a good team player to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
